FAQs
My purchases are always shipped by air. Do you inspect air cargo?
Our inspectors are trained to inspect shipments regardless of the transportation method be it Air, Sea, Land or Intermodal. In each case the safety of your shipment is an important part of the criteria when conducting the inspection and we make sure that the packaging, crates, skids, boxes, as well as, air and sea cargo containers are appropriate to safeguard the physical integrity of your goods.
If my purchase is inspected at origin why should the shipment be inspected again at destination?
In case of any incident which requires a claim to the insurance company it is best to have the report produced by our inspectors in the port of destination. Insurance companies value the veracity of our reports and tend to expedite the claim process when they receive copies of the two inspections conducted by the same inspection agency. In addition, depending on the type of inspection performed by our inspectors and the type of loss, IISA may cover the difference between the deductible and the value of the lost good should there a discrepancy between the two inspection reports
If I am an exporter and the shipment was inspected at origin should I also contract your inspection services in the port of destination?
Depending on the terms of your sale it may be of advantage to do so. For instance, if your sale is CIF and your company is the beneficiary on the insurance policy.
How do you measure the efficiency of your services?
We measure our success among other things by the quick growth in the demand for our inspection and surveying services. This growth is an indication of:

a) Customer satisfaction

b) Reliable service delivery by our qualified inspectors in the field

c) Our proactive presence in the market place

However, the most important parameter to take into consideration when evaluating our service and measuring our success is the reduction in claim incidence which is now below 0.5% per annum for most of our regular clients.
